Mindy Shreve is
counsel in the firm of DeForest Koscelnik Yokitis Skinner &
Berardinelli. Previously, she was a partner in the Pittsburgh
offices of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP and Buchanan
Ingersoll. She concentrates a significant portion of her
practice on commercial, employment, products liability and
toxic tort litigation. Ms. Shreve also has a broad background
in other litigation including environmental, construction,
First Amendment/media law, securities, investor/broker and
banking litigation.
Ms. Shreve has defended cases
involving several business segments and industries such as
banking, health care, heavy manufacturing, mining, computer and
Internet technology, engineering, aviation, publishing,
advertising and industrial chemical and oil and securities. Ms.
Shreve has litigated cases in twenty states, as well as before
AAA, NASD, NYSE and Labor Arbitration Panels.
Ms. Shreve’s recent trial work, includes:

race discrimination claims, drug testing policies and
employment agreements. |

former officers and other companies relating to
misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of
fiduciary duty on behalf of industrial minerals company
and health care entity. |

infringement and unfair competition claim on behalf of
a major publishing company. |

coordination
and defense of tens of thousands of claims against
chemical manufacturer arising out of a train derailment
and resulting chemical spill. |

tort and
products liability cases resulting in summary
dismissals based on preemption and Daubert/Frye
challenges. |
Ms. Shreve graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from the
University of Pittsburgh in 1979 and graduated magna cum laude
from Duquesne University School of Law in 1983. She is admitted
to practice in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Allegheny
County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. She is also
an Arbitrator for the National Association of Securities
Dealers and has lectured on several litigation and
environmental topics.
Ms. Shreve is active in both
community and professional activities. She is past President of
the Board of Directors of Pennsylvania Organization for Women
in Early Recovery (P.O.W.E.R.), a member of the Board of
Directors of the Inner City Junior Development Program, and a
Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. She is also past
president of the Duquesne Law Alumni Association.
